new year's resolutions
its the new year and with it are hopes of new beginnings, new story-lines of your life, and new dreams.
it also is the time for the customary new year's resolutions.
let me clarify that i am not a believer in new year's resolutions. for if you really want to change, you don't need to wait for the new year to do it right?!
but this year somehow is different. it feels different. there is this voice in me whispering that i am not getting any younger and if i want some direction, i should start somewhere.
so now im formulating my own list of new year's resolutions. nothing big or drastic. just simple things that could well add up to a better and "matured" me.
1. i will not worry too much - things happen, they always will.
2. i will be more accepting - if it happened, it happened for a reason.
3. i will continue to hold on to my faith - because in the end, that is all we got.
4. i will spend more time with the family - once i get married, time with them would even diminish.
5. i will dedicate time to take care of my body - because a mind that is willing will not work while the body is weak.
6. i will spend less time at work - but be more efficient during work hours.
7. i will always let people know they are appreciated - because they deserve nothing less.
8. i will always say words like "thank you" and "take care" and mean it - because sometimes these words lose their meanings.
9. i will give more and expect less - if you give yourself to others, the sense of fulfillment would be the outmost high.
10. i will not look for love - usually, it really just finds us.
